Who We Are
Angelique Stevens lives in Upstate New York where she teaches creative writing, literature of genocide, and race literatures. Her nonfiction has been published in the 2022 and 2023 Best American Essays, Granta, LitHub, The New England Review, and a number of anthologies. She holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Bennington College and an MA from SUNY Brockport in Literature. Other honors include fellowships from Bennington College’s MFA Program; MacDowell, Hedgebrook, Bread Loaf, Tin House, Kenyon Review, Sewanee Writers Workshops; and fellowships from the Periplus Collective and the Lighthouse Book Project. She is represented by Ayesha Pande at Ayesha Pande Literary. She is currently working on a collection of essays about poverty and the myth of the American Dream due out from Simon & Schuster in Fall 2027.
Amber Wheeler Bacon is a writer and teacher whose work has appeared in Crazyhorse, Ecotone, Epiphany, Five Points, Prairie Schooner and Witness. You can find her writing online at Ploughshares and CRAFT. She received the 2018 Breakout Writers Prize from The Author’s Guild, a 2021 Bread Loaf Environmental scholarship, the 2022 Lit/South Award for flash fiction, and a 2023 Prairie Schooner Award. She was a finalist for the Chautauqua Janus Prize nominated by Ecotone Magazine. Her story collection, We Were Vessels, set in her Myrtle Beach neighborhood, is forthcoming from YesYes Books in 2028. She teaches writing at Coastal Carolina University and is working on a literary mystery novel. She's represented by Amy Bishop-Wycisk of Trellis Literary.
